Gown worn by Dame Judi Dench to the 2006 Oscars

We are honoured that our Patron Dame Judi Dench has donated her exquisitely beautiful Oscars gown from the 2006 Academy Awards to help the theatre raise money for our capital project.
It is a gorgeous four-piece silk outfit with the signature piece being a magnificent, sumptuously embroidered coat dress. There is a matching embellished slip dress, silk trousers and a long embroidered scarf to complete a truly stunning ensemble. The decorative silver beadwork and raised embroidery, highlighted with pink, is of superb quality.
Dame Judi wore the lovely mint and white gown, inspired by traditional Indian dress, when she was nominated as best actress for Mrs Henderson Presents. The outfit was created especially for Dame Judi by Sandeep Kholsa ad Abu Jani, two of India’s most coveted fashion designers who have dressed countless international stars including Priyanka Chopra and Beyoncé. The pair also created intricately-worked gowns for Bond Girl Sophie Marceau in the World is Not Enough. The designer are pioneers of luxury fashion in India and have been coveted couturiers since 1986. They are featured in the BBC2 programme Streets of Gold: Mumbai.
Gown is accompanied by a special message and signed card from Judi Dench.
