We are setting up a gaming community for our clients and those who wish to support our endeavors through using online gaming platforms as a method of fundraising and recovery.
In 2020, research conducted by the University of Oxford found that playing video games may improve your mental health and make you happier. Gaming online provides you the opportunity to relax, socialise with others and have fun! We think this is an overlooked area within the veterans community, and we've made it our mission to fix this.
Streaming popular video games through popular sites (Twitch, Streamlabs, YouTube, Tiltify) is also a great way to fundraise for charity - it's something fun for yourself, as well as those watching! You can go it alone, or get your friends, family or colleagues involved in your streams.
How do I get started?
There are a lot of guides online which can help you start your journey with twitch (click the image below), but we are also more than happy to help you get started too!
Don’t worry if this is your first time streaming for charity, we will be there for you every step of the way, with tips and tricks. Don’t forget to share your challenge on your social media and tag us; we can get the word spread about your wonderful efforts!
Please get in touch with us at events.team@wwtw.org.uk if you are looking to stream games and/or if you are a veteran who wants to join our community!
