Molting Ducky
Metal and organic materials are mixed to create a new species on an uncomfortable yet playful juxtaposition of antagonised shapes. With its feathers gone, a duck is naked, exposed to the elements, hardened by chemicals, extreme weathers, microplastics, radiations and mutations of the species around.
Castaneda’s obsession with cans has taken him to new heights. From windows and capsules to other cultures, to intervention of portraits and now elaborating about GMO foods and dystopian scenarios, his exploration not only reinvents itself but elevates this path into scarier territories.
