Cricket coaching session with former Yorkshire Captain Azeem Rafiq
Description
Azeem Rafiq is a British Asian cricketer who played professionally in England for Yorkshire County Cricket Club. A right arm off-spin bowler, Rafiq played for the county between 2008 and 2014 and 2016 and 2018, making his senior debut at the age of 17. He captained the England under-15 and under-19 sides, and in 2012 became the youngest man to captain a Yorkshire side as well as the first person of Asian origin to do so. Azeem spoke out publicly about racism he had experienced at the club – making national news and leading to significant changes in cricket. Azeem remains an anti-prejudice campaigner – speaking out on behalf of others and confronting his own previously held views.
The prize is a coaching session at a cricket ground or club of your choice, within reasonable travel distance of London or Yorkshire.
An amazing and unique opportunity for any budding cricket team.
