Rachael Burford began her rugby life at Medway RFC in Kent, alongside her mum and sister, and has gone on to enjoy a remarkable career for club and country. A multiple Six Nations winner, Burford has appeared in four World Cups and two Sevens World Cups. She became the first female professional player to be elected to the RPA Players' Board in 2016. She won the International Rugby Players' Association merit award alongside All Black legend Richie McCaw at the end of 2017. In May 2021 Burford captained Harlequins to Allianz Premier 15s glory, beating Saracens at Kingsholm. Off the pitch, Burford is also a respected pundit working for BBC and Amazon Prime amongst others. Burford is also the founder of Girls Rugby Club and Head of Women's Rugby at International Rugby Players.
Shaunagh Brown is a cult hero at The Stoop with an incredible back story, Shaunagh Brown joined Quins at the beginning of the 2016/2017 season from Medway RFC. An incredibly talented athlete, Brown competed in the Hammer at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and has fought as a professional boxer. She has enjoyed a varied career away from sport, earning a living as a gas engineer, commercial diver and firefighter. It wasn’t until she was 25 that Brown tried rugby and incredibly two years later she made her Test debut for the Red Roses against Canada. Brown was part of the England squad which won four successive Six Nations Grand Slams in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. The prop had a 2020/21 season to remember, scoring nine tries and producing a player of the match performance in the Premier 15s Final as Harlequins defeated Saracens 25-17 at Kingsholm Stadium. Brown is passionate about developing and promoting women's sport as well as racial equality. She is also a member of the Students RFU Trustee Board. Currently stars in an Amazon Prime documentary called 'No Women, No Try'.
