Tracey Crouch CBE MP, having recently had breast cancer knows full well about the benefits of a quick diagnosis. Following a conversation with her oncologist, she became aware that Breast Cancer Kent were urgently trying to raise £100,000 to purchase state of the art life saving equipment, which will help the pathology team quickly process biopsies (and tissue removed during surgery). Maidstone Hospital provides pathology services to a large part of Kent and at the moment they are reliant on using imaging machines in other departments. This is significantly slowing down how fast they can process the tissue, which means patients are waiting longer for their results. The Faxitron path specimen radiography system is quick and convenient as it can be placed in the laboratory.

As time is of the essence, this will help save lives.

The Charity also desperately need further funds to provide essential services for patients with breast cancer in Kent, so every penny donated will make a massive difference.

Breast Cancer Kent fund projects, equipment and research to support the work of the NHS Medical Teams at the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Breast Care Units, Kent Oncology Centre and the University of Kent School of biosciences. The charity acts as a hub for fundraising, receiving donations, allocating funds to projects large and small, and disseminating general information on breast health and breast cancer treatments.
