Lot 16
Description
In a moment of kismet, this garment’s satin base was handprinted with the name of Grayson Perry’s motorbike, “Kenilworth.” Made by designer Maia Bergman, the dress’ patterns were created with black pigment and varying shades of pastel nail varnish, which, in Bergman’s words, “added to the idea of repurposing and celebrating every-day items into something more glamorous.” This dress has been well-loved; the designer label, stitching on the train, and some decorations have come loose. There is also a stain near the zipper.
