ABOUT THE AUTHOR
David Nicholls is the bestselling author of Starter for Ten, The Understudy, One Day, Us (longlisted for the Booker Prize) and Sweet Sorrow. One Day was published in 2009 to extraordinary critical acclaim: translated into 40 languages and becoming a global bestseller. David has written screen adaptations of Far from the Madding Crowd, Much Ado About Nothing, When Did You Last See Your Father? and Great Expectations, as well as his own novels, Starter for Ten, One Day and Us. Other TV work includes episodes of Cold Feet and original TV drama The 7.39. His adaptation of Edward St Aubyn’s Patrick Melrose, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, was Emmy-nominated and won him a BAFTA for best writer. A new Netflix adaptation of One Day is on its way and his next novel, You Are Here, will be published in April 2024.
