ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Linton Kwesi Johnson (LKJ) was born in 1952 in Chapelton, Jamaica. He came to London in 1963 and later read sociology at Goldsmiths College. His poetry collections include Dread, Beat An' Blood (Bogle L'Ouverture, 1975), Tings An' Times (Bloodaxe, 1991) and Selected Poems (Penguin, new edition 2022). Time Come: Selected Prose, his first collection of prose writing including writing from the last fifty years, was published by Picador in 2023. LKJ has enjoyed a successful career as a reggae artist on the global stage for over four decades. His albums include Forces of Victory, Bass Culture and More Time. His most recent award is the 2020 PEN Pinter Prize. He lives in Brixton, south London.
