ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Alan Hollinghurst was born in 1954. He is the author of six novels, including The Swimming-Pool Library, The Line of Beauty (winner of the 2004 Man Booker Prize), The Stranger's Child and, most recently, The Sparsholt Affair. He has previously published three short stories, all very long-winded affairs.
