ABOUT JACKSON BOXER
Jackson Boxer’s first work in kitchens was as a kitchen porter for Margot Henderson at the age of 16. The experience was formative, and Jackson continued to pursue cooking jobs as he completed school and then a degree in English at Cambridge. After graduating, Jackson joined the opening team at 32 Great Queen Street, gaining experience on the floor, then in the bar and finally in the kitchen. Meanwhile Jackson’s brother, Frank Boxer, was setting up Frank’s Café at Bold Tendencies in Peckham in the summer of 2009. In May 2010, Jackson and Frank together set up the landmark Brunswick House in a crumbling Georgian mansion house in Vauxhall, initially intended as a six-month pop-up with a 10-seat counter bar and café. Over the last ten years, Jackson and Frank have slowly grown Brunswick House into a 60-cover dining room, 40-cover bar, 70-cover terrace, 3 private dining rooms accommodating 150 and the cellars. During this period, Frank has also taken over the Camberwell Arms and supported Jackson in the launches of the first Rita’s in Dalston, Chess Club in Mayfair, and St. Leonards in Shoreditch. In March 2019, Jackson opened Orasay in Notting Hill, supported by Frank, and inspired by the western isles of Scotland where the two have spent summer holidays since childhood. They joined forces most recently with below Stone Nest, a bar situated within the basement of arts organisation Stone Nest in the heart of London’s West End.
