This painting is a reflection on childhood. The gold leaf road is a reference to my childhood home, Egoli (meaning Johannesburg, place of gold). It also reminds me of Dorothy's yellow brick road, and her famous line, 'there's no place like home'. I've chosen a float frame, in blue sprayed finish. It picks up on the the blue, pensive tones in the artwork.
